Our journey began in 1983 when our Director, Mr. S.V. Gopalen, established the company with a factory based in Chennai, India. His industry experience dates back to 1967 when he started manufacturing Epoxy Castings and Fiberglass Tubes for the Switchgear and Transformer Industries. We at OLG indigenously Designed and Tested, the First External Flange Mounting ONLOAD TAP CHANGER as per IEC 60214 in Nov 1982. This OLTC used superior insulation like Epoxy Casting and Fiberglass-Epoxy Tubes instead of Phenolic bonded Paper material. In addition, OLG’s design of OLTC incorporated the Coarse-fine selector/ Reverser, which was also a first in Externally Mounted OLTCs. This helped reduce the oil quantity to less than 400 litres, rendering an OLTC much more compact than the existing designs.

OLGPL has about 75,000 sq. ft of manufacturing space in 2 separate facilities
OLGPL boasts a dedicated team of over 300 members, including 80 skilled staff and a robust workforce of committed workers. OLG has incorporated ‘Lean Manufacturing’ processes 5S principals and elements of 6 SIGMA methodologies to help define its Quality System Procedures. OLGPL continues to introduce various IT systems into its operation to help better manage its resources, improve productivity and increase customer satisfaction. OLGPL has won many awards and accolades as a result of its commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
